Abolition and East Asian Medicine

I’m very excited to be able to share my doctoral capstone with y’all. The capstone is titled “Jailbreak of the Imagination: Abolitionist Praxis in Classical East Asian Medicine.” For the field of acupuncture, our educational institutions, and the abolitionist movement, I hope it serves as a resource and sparks dialogue, development of theory, and praxis (so much praxis!).

I attempted to write it in a way that is educational and open to folks who aren’t steeped in prison abolitionist theory or classical East Asian medicine. And, I still had to write it for the big university…

Even if there are moments where you’re not totally sure about all the layers of what’s being stated, just ride the waves and let it wash over you, and I believe you will get a lot out of it. Feel free to contact me with thoughts, critiques, questions, dreams, etc. You’re welcome and encouraged to share it with anyone who you think may benefit or be interested!

Get you a hot cup of tea and curl up for a read.
